“Whip my hair” parody proves Maccabeats stardom is an elusive proposition

When Chabad TV persona Mendy Pellin released a high quality parody of Willow Pallin’s “Whip my hair” in December (below), he probably didn’t expect fewer than 20,000 hits in two weeks. At least not in the post-Maccabeats era.

HyperSemitic suggestion for future Jewish viral video attempts: play to the Jewish holiday calendar. Rosh Hashannah Girl, Candlelight, 20 Things to do with Matzah, Who Let the Jews Out and Seda Club: pick a well-known Jewish holiday, preferably 7-8 days long, and release a thematic parody about 10-14 days before.
